Hi, I’m María, founder of Imagine, a boutique studio in a small village on the Costa Blanca, Orba, where I now live.
I was born in Madrid and I’m the mother of Tomás, the love of my life, my driving force, and the reason behind my purpose. Beauty fills my heart—it connects me emotionally to something deep. Walking along the shoreline is a must for me.
Since I was a child, interior design has always drawn me in. After studying economics and working as a business consultant at one of the Big Five firms—you’d probably recognize the name—life gave me the push I needed to study and do what I’d always wanted to do… interior architecture… and since then, it has been my passion.
Someone once asked me: “What can you spend hours doing without getting tired?” That’s what you should devote yourself to.
Later on, I kept pushing myself to discover more of my passions, and in Fine Arts, I found what I was missing.
To deepen my personal growth, I trained in Gestalt therapy, which gave me a broader vision of myself and of human nature…
When you manage to understand who you are, that’s when you gain the freedom to do what you want. Craft, knowledge, mastery, boldness, audacity, confidence… I try to apply every experience to my interiors, to my work… but above all, to life. And there’s one thing I’ve truly learned: you convince when you are convinced; you fascinate when you are fascinated…
Economist, interior designer, artist, Gestalt therapist… If I had to say one thing about myself: I enjoy what I do.
And at 45, in an unexpected twist, my son’s school brought this cosmopolitan woman to a small mountain village… and I fell in love with the Mediterranean… the sea, the mountains, its warm and welcoming climate that invites you to enjoy the outdoors, its golden light that fills every corner with magic, the textures of its natural materials—stone, wood, and clay—that connect with the essence of the earth and tell ancient stories, and that unmistakable scent of sea salt, pine, and herbs that awakens the senses… and of course, its artists and artisans, guardians of traditions who turn the everyday into art and give soul to every corner of this unique land.

All of this has given me the sensitivity to design from the heart, creating unique and exclusive spaces that are not only lived in but also felt—spaces that tell stories, awaken emotions, and wrap you in a deep sense of well-being and connection. Each corner becomes an emotional refuge, full of art, a place you’ll always want to return to.
From all this comes what we do at the studio—what I call sustainable emotional interior design & art.
